weird situation
I bought my car about 6 months ago, and it has randomly been doing this every few weeks. Sometimes after i shut my car off, and go to start it again like 5 minutes later after i have pumped gas or something, i go to start my car and nothing happens. the only thing that happens is the rpm guage, and the battery gauge and whatnot they max out everytime i turn the key a full turn. the starter does not click when this happens howerver. buuutttt sometimes when it does start when i turn the key the first time the starter makes a single click then when i turn the key again and it starts....but thats only half. today i was sitting at a red light and my car died.... i tried to start it again, it tried to turn over again and again, (and yes i had gas, literally filled it up like 5 minutes before) then after it had tried to turn over a few times when i turned the key again, nothing happened just as before. so i had to get the cops to push me out of the intersection. lol but if i let it sit about thirty minutes after it doesnt crank, it always starts up just as it did today. i am so confused its not consistent at all. i checked my plugs, and i believe they are the very ones that came with the car back in 89(89 camaro 2.8 v6) so i bought some more, and will put them in later, but any help would be great because i cant keep having it not start on me its a pain in the butt. thanks

Re: weird situation
Have you checked the obvious things such as corrosion on the battery cables and tight connections to the starter? It could be that your ignition switch might be the issue.

Re: weird situation
yea i have checked the corrosion, and i thought it might be ign switch, but the dude at the auto parts store said that 99 percent of the time its not the ign switch but its only 30 bucks for the ign switch...he thought it was the starter. and no i havnt checked starter connections...will do though thanks

Re: weird situation
Sounds more like a cable or connection problem, giving it's both no-starting and also dying while already running. Could be multiple problems tho I guess.
