Hey guys I got a 92 maro rs with the 305. Having some issues so here it goes; When I crank the car up it idles really rough and lopes at hardly any rpms, it shoots out black smoke and then ( im assuming) after it burns off that extra gas that it's dumping it starts running fine. Also the fuel pump wont shut off sometimes, it just keeps buzzing. I just got a new oil pressure sending unit because my gauge isnt working right and I've read that the way the fuel pump works might have something to do with it, also the fuel pump relay or something. Any advice or anything would help.

 

Well I put a new timing chain, motor mounts, tranny mount, and oil pressure sending unit in yesterday. I runs ten times better, but still the black smoke, its running too rich. It doesnt lope at start up anymore but it does shoot out black smoke every now and then. Any ideas? Idle air control maybe?

 

did you fix the problem? my car has a similar problem.
