intermittant problem with dying.

Hi guys, I bought a 92 rs camaro. 305 tbi 5spd. It didnt want to idle and would die on me quite often after being driven for awhile. Mechanic told me he had checked everything and he thinks it is the prom. I didnt know what a prom was! I bought a hypertech off ebay and it helped alot but I still have problems. The car is nice, it only has 89k and is clean as a whistle, I really want to figuer this out. When I first start it the idle is all over the place! up and down upand down. It will usally smoothout after about 5 minutes. It runs fine alot of the time. but all of a sudden when I stop at a redlite the idle will be way high. tapping the acclelerator does no good. But the worst thing it does, is start dying on me. This is really wierd, does not do it real often but when it does its bad. It will start right back up but then might die in 3rd gear going 30mph. Usually it dies at stop lites tho. It seems tobe worse when temp is getting hot, above 220. Any suggestions please? I love this car, Im just not experinced at working on the computerized stuff. Pre 1980 I can deal with. Thanks for any help

Re: intermittant problem with dying.

Try checking out this, and go look in the TBI forum for more info on tuning. You might want to clean out the IAC before doing the setting. Have fun

Lots of good info also in the technical articles section, that's where this link is located. Go look around in there when you get a chance. And in the TBI section, at the top, go click on " new to TBI?" lots of good stuff there
