Blower motor keeps going after car is turned off?
Anyone have an idea what would cause this?
I gave my old blower motor to my friend and its still doing it (1992 Firebird V6)
Shop wants $500 to fix it and is claiming some sort of wiring got fried.

Because in Hi speed it gets it power direct from the battery through a relay.
Most likely relay is locked in on position or fan switch is not operating properly

If you aren't willing to make the effort to understand it, then go pay $500.
Look up "relay" on Wikipedia or How Stuff Works or something, and learn what it is and what it does.
It's just electricity; gotta be about the simplest part of the car. Everything electric in a car is SO dumbed down that even a moron like me can get it. And if I can figure it out, then every human with an IQ higher than about 50 should have no trouble at all.
In this specific case, there is a relay that is used to feed hard battery to the blower motor in high speed, when the current is the greatest (MUCH lower current on the lower speeds), so that all that wiring and the switch and everything else doesn't have to carry it. If this relay's contacts get stuck, it will produce the symptoms you describe.
To find it, locate the blower motor; find the purple wire; follow it about a foot or so to a plug, with among others, a big fat red wire (the battery feed) in it, that plugs into a small box. That little box is the relay. Get another one at the junkyard, probably shouldn't cost more than $2.

Pic #1 in the post below shows the location of the relay(s) behind the white connector. Follow the wiring as Sofa suggests to locate the correct one (if you have more than one):

BTW, most auto parts stores have these in stock, should you desire new.
