fuel pressure regulator HELP....please
fuel pressure regulator HELP....please
Hey fellas, I threw out the stock 305 tpi from my 89 Iroc and dropped in a 383 carburated engine. I kept the stock electric fuel pump, and so I purchased a fuel pressure regulator. I've wired it up. When I crank, but without actually turning the motor, I notice that the fuel pressure gauge, which I also purchased, reads at around 14 pounds instantly but then slowly drops to basically zero.
Any suggestions? Any general thoughts? Thanks guys.

need a switch to run the fuel pump, or could wire it to igniton, few ways to do it,
doesnt hurt to make sure the fuel pump is good. (unless you did this already?)

If using the in-tank pump, is this regulator you bought a return-style regulator? If not, you've wasted your time/money - you HAVE to use a return style regulator if using the in-tank pump. One clue - if you paid less than $60 new for it, it's NOT a return style regulator. Most folks use a Mallory 4309 available from Summit.
