Ok awsome so my first post ever on a fourm. I have an 87 5.7 350 Camaro. Have had the car in storage finally got money to get it going. Before i Put it away i had this same problem so its no from just sitting there.
1. It idles fine when first fired up after 10 min its terrible. Up and down idle like its gonna stall but it dose not. All most like a over sized cam. but all is stock but the exhaust.
2. Loss off power some times then i nail it.
3. I have to double foot the gas and brake when at a stop because i stall when i start to take off weather i go slow or nail it down.
4. Back fires a lot when i really get on it and let off
5. Also stalls when putting a load on the engine reverse/drive only when warmed up though
Dunno some times its like driving a 4 cylinder.
SO far i have replaced the TPS did not fix the problem. I also tested the MAF it tested good. I am getting the EGR code 32. But i can not find the EGR. Been looking all over the web for it. But im told its my EGR or injectors or fuel pump/filter. But i know nothing about electronics on cars only carbs.
Also can you take an EGR out of a 86 TA 350 and use it in the Camaro.

Welcome to the boards!! Would be good if you could give us more specifics on the car. Year, engine, carbed, not carbed etc...as well as all that you've tried so far.

 

o did list all the info on it and also what i tried to fix it. Except its a TPI but saying its stock kinda covers that lol
