Unidenified broken sensor thing.

There is a random wire leading to the engine block on the passenger side between the back two spark plugs. There is a sensor looking thing between thise spark plugs as well, where the wire and sensor connect is broken, and I have no idea what it is. Any ideas?
You can easily see it by looking under the passenger side of the car.

Cooling fan temp sensor. THey often get broken off through the years. When the coolant reaches the turn-on temp (around 215* for a TBI car, I thiink) it grounds that wire which activates the cooling fan relay (near the power brake booster) and turns on the fan.

Umm, I'm gonna guess copper colored. (The insulation should be green.)

Sorry, but I just couldn't resist.

copper colored
OK. Spank yourself now. More. Use a bigger whip. Get your wife to help, I just know she'll welcome the opportunity. OK stop now, you're begnning to enjoy it. Defeats the purpose.

Now go sit in the penalty box for 2 minutes. No engine, no heat, no radio, no beer, no blankets. You can come back and get in the blind if you survive.

If you need a new connector on the wire side, order a Dorman part number 85140 from most any parts store.
