83 a.i.r. valve to 87 a.i.r. valve

I need help with this question and ive searched the forums and come up with nothing. I am currently doing the serpentine conversion on my 83 trans am. The a.i.r. valve from the 83 has two wires plugged into it. The 87 A.i.r. valve had no plugs and seems to be alot simpler to install. Can i use the 87 valve to make my wiring simpler? or will this change somehow mess with the computer?

I did the serpentine swap on mine. The difference I noticed were the electrical connectors were different, so I had to swap those. Also, the new one has no vacuum lines going to it where as the older one did.

Thanks for the info. So did you adapt the new 87 valve to work? Or did you use the old valve?

I used the new one. The old one doesn't fit with the serpentine brackets.
