VATS resistance question

hello

I have a 90 5.7 with VATS. I am experiencing some issues with engine cut out. It feels like no fuel, is occasional/random. I have replaced so many other parts I figure I will look into VATS (the symptoms are there).

first question is

There are 15 different codes that GM uses in their V.A.T. systems. They are as follows, (1) 402, (2) 523, (3) 681, (4) 887, (5) 1130, (6) 1470, (7)1870, (8) 2370, (9) 3010, (10) 3740, (11) 4750, (12) 6040, (13) 7500, (14) 9530, (15) 11800

If my key is a code 7 and my actual resistance is 1851 instead of 1870 would this cause a failure or intermittent failure? Is there an allowable range for resistance built into the VATS program? Or does VATS expect exactly that resistance?

thx

When cranking car over?
Do you have a code showing for VATS failure?

Re: VATS resistance question

Does the ecu only check vats at start up or at any time when the engine is running? What if the key was loose and could be removed? Don't laugh. I've had that on an older car.

Re: VATS resistance question

+ or - 10% on the resistor value.... If your lock assembly is that loose replace it.. that means anyone can take your car
