i have a 83 z28, heres a little bit about it, stock rochester 4bbl carb, i took all of the electronis off of it and it was running like a champ, stock distuibutor, with accel 8.8 wires champion plugs, now i go to start it and the car seemed like it was using all its power to try and start almost like a power surge all the lights dim and the car does nothing when you turn the key not even crrank or click, nothing. when i bought this car the previous owner installed an after market alarm system i was reading up and some said this could be the problem when a few wire touch or come unplugged it will cause the car to do nothing, i could explain more symptoms, but any suggestions even where to start?

 

Sounds like a dead battery, or one that needs to be charged. Have you checked it?
