Re: 14.82 at 100 mph

I thought that was a lightening bolt that went by!!!

My 305 tpi ran 15.1 w/ headers and some weight reduction. and a 2.2 60' time. Learn how to launch your car and maybe get a set of radials, you'll get that time way down.

Re: 14.82 at 100 mph

Your mph is an indication of how much power your car makes. Your ET is based on how well you launch the car.

100mph is very decent, especially for a 305. Do you know how much your car weighs?

You can find out how much power you're making if you know your weight. At least you can approximate. But I'd trust that approximation more than a dyno.

14.8 at 100mph is what the old muscle cars used to do, they'd spin 'em off the line & make it up at the big end. There was another guy that did something like 13.4 at 99mph, he had a 1.6 second 60foot.

That trap speed is excellent. With an auto, good TC, and sticky tires, it would be in the low 13's. With lots of practice with the T-5 and some good tires, I think you could go high 13's.

Re: 14.82 at 100 mph

Even if the 60 foot time was 2.324 (as opposed to 3.324) that's still pretty..... um...... well, let's jsut say there's significant room for improvement.

Get some traction and a good posi in it first ( if your existing posi is a worn out "one wheel peel" situation). Steeper gears just mean more wheelspin if you don't have the traction to plant that torque. They rarely help much if you are going to run street radials. On stickier tires that can take the extra torque they can make a significant difference, though.

100 MPH trap speed is 13-second territory, depending on how well you can launch it. Even on street radials with a functional posi and a mediocre 2.0 60 foot time that's mid-high 13s. Get a good 1.70-1.80 launch on DRs or slicks and it's a mid-low 13 car.

Well done on the engine combo, BTW- sounds like it's belting it out pretty good for a mildly warmed-over 305.

Yeah she runs Really really good i blew the rear end out of it last week just rolling in to it in 2nd gear didnt have posi either so that just means i got a reason to put another rear end in it
