12 Volts at batt. no ACC power
stumped on this one guys. My car starter was disengaging intermittently while cranking but still would start engine. I figured the spliced power cable was drawing too much current and planned on changing it. Before I got to it my friend left my lights on and killed my battery. I got a jump, drove it home and the next morning I would get ACC power but no crank at all. Thinking a bad starter solenoid I took it in for testing and it passed.
I put starter back on, charged the battery and now no ACC power whatsoever. I have 12 volts at battery, 12V at starter but no headlights, no power when turning the key.
This is what is wired:
From battery - 4 gauge cable to starter, smaller gauge to alternator, similar gauge like alternator to a fusible link all off + side
off the (-) side just a heavy gauge to ground on ac and small gauge to fender well.
at starter, heavy gauge (+) to big post along with smaller gauge wires with big post size fitting(two different wires but combined on same clamp).
on smaller solenoid post, there are two smaller gauge wires, not sure of color but sure couldn't be crossed because the post fittings are sized accordingly.
I check fuses near battery and others under dash(driver side). Could it be ignition switch or do I have an extra wire on small post on solenoid???
thanks!

you you probe the wires comming off the starter, past the fusable links, and see if theyre sending any power from the starter post? sounds like you have some blown fusable links. and the soleniod should only have 1 wire on it, a purple wire.

Re: 12 Volts at batt. no ACC power
sorry guys and thanks Travis for the reply. I got back under it to see what the extra wire on the S terminal was and it had a clamp on it big enough to go on the bigger post. Apparently that is the power source for ACC power and everything else.
I think I have one wire than I should on the starter but it works now and am not going to worry about it.
my error, which usually turns out to be 9/10 of the problem.
