First Start in 15 years. How to prepare?
Hey all, OSS here;
Picked up an '85 TA today (LG4, M5, 199,000KM's) for dirt cheap. Engine hasnt been run in 15 years. What precautions should I take before I attempt to fire her up? I was going to remove the plugs, squirt some ATF fluid in the cylinders, allow it to soak through the rings. Oil change, plugs, fresh fuel. Thinkin' about new V-Belts. What are other good ideas? coolant change too with due time.

That's a good start.
Get all the old gas out and replace with fresh. It's long since turned to sludge. A new fuel filter is a good idea too.
You want to get that junk out BEFORE you start pumping it through the lines and carb, clogging everything up.
Anything made of rubber is suspect. From fuel lines to v-belts to vacuum hoses.
And that includes the brake lines, too. If you get it fired up and running you want to be able to stop it again!! A car that won't run is a bummer but it won't kill you. One that runs but has no brakes is extremely dangerous.
