Got most of you beat. Started with an engine swap, then one thing turned into another and you end up selling your house, breaking up with your girlfriend and quitting your job because they takes up too much of your build time. Then the build takes so long you change your mind and redo the car 3 times. I really need to get this thing on the road...

Had the 87' bird for few yrs now. Bought it for 2000. Since then spent between 5-6000 on body mods and interior mod cuz making a accurate KITT replica

I am half way done my build and I am in to mine for $22000 plus I paid $6000 for the car 18 years ago.

I have about 15k in the bright red 89 alone, including purchase price. It is worth it though.....

i got my 86 IROC TPI 305 in dec of 09 out from under 63 bales of hay!!! i paid $500 now i have $7,385.40 in reciepts and a very pleasing driver.WAY too much money but hey it was fun!!!

10k or so, the previous owner had 12k in. neither of those figures include purchase price
