Starter replacement
I'm going to replace the starter in my 87 IROC 5.7. I'm looking at a CVR 5323 mini. Problem is, I can't find any info on whether it needs a relay. My current ignition system is MSD box and distributor, the current starter is the factory original. I didn't install the MSD system so I don't know what if any modifications had to be made. On the Summit Racing site it says "No relay terminal for factory points ignition" for the CVR. Does that mean it doesn't come with one or doesn't need one? Any ideas, suggestions, things to look at, recommendations, etc?

Re: Starter replacement
No relay needed as points and condensers went the way of steam engines at GM in '75, IIRC.

Re: Starter replacement
yeah, no relay is needed. i went to a mini torque starter myself. noticed slightly faster starts, knocked a few lbs off. and best of all, not a pita to try to maneuver out, and back in like the stock ones! there great starters.
