code 54 help please!

My 88 iroc 5.7 turns off as I come to a stop, I put the scanner on it and it reads code 54 but have no clue on what it is or how to fix the problem, my wife drives it to work and I'm worried about it getting her stranded somewhere. so I'm asking for some help from you guys. thank you in advance.

Re: code 54 help please!

Code 54- The ecm monitors the voltage on the fuel pump circuit. If it sees a voltage of less than 2V for about 2 seconds, this code will be set. This can be set by a faulty charging system, but the most likely cause is either a loose or corroded connection in the fuel pump circuit.

Re: code 54 help please!

Where is that circuit located? Engine compartment or towards gas tank?

Re: code 54 help please!

fuel pump relay is on the driver side engine compartment. the wiring then goes back into the car and out the back bye the tank.

Re: code 54 help please!

I have a question I also need help with my fuel pump priming. The car won't prime, but after cranking for so long it will start and stay running. I did the fuel pump test, but i can't find the test connector where it tells me to put 12v. thank you for your help

Re: code 54 help please!

The pump runs. Now here another question haha.... Is the dark green wire from the relay suppose to be getting continuous power when the ignition is on and I'm not getting power to the tan/white wire?
