1984 TA 305 missing a few accessories
Hey guys,
I have a 1984 TA 350 carb'd that's missing the smog pump and A/C system. I bought a 1991 Formula 350 that's got fuel injection for parts(rear end wrecked). Would I have to pull out the whole serpentine system(all accessories) to get the smog pump and A/c to work or could I just pull those 2 components and transplant them onto my engine? If ya'll need more info I'll be glad to give it to ya. Thanks.

To swap everything over, you'd need to re-wire your alternator and AC to work properly. They've switched places on the car, with the alternator on the drivers side and AC on the passenger side. THis means you'll need the AC piping from the donar car as the lines are shorter. There are directions for it here on the forum but I've been unable to find the ones I used when I did it. Just do a search and you should find everything you need after some digging.
I believe the smog pump will work fine if you put a v-belt pully on it however, since you have the whole set up and since serpentine is better than V-belt, I'd just go the whole route.
Additionally, if you are in a place that doesn't have smog checks, I wouldn't even put it the smog pump on and would get rid of or plug the A.I.R. tubes.

I swapped my 84 accessories with v-belt to those from an 88 with a serpentine belt.

Thanks man. Much appreciated! The A/C tubes had to come over anyways as the only thing I have is the evaporator in the dash. The guy my brother bought it from gutted the A/C and the smog pump system. Sadly I have to use the smog pump since I am in an area that does visual and sniffer tests. I'll dig around some more and see if I can find the articles. I'll post pictures and a tutorial as I go along so there's something more recent on here for it.
