Need some help. 350 tbi running rich at idle
I have a 1987 350 TBI. It is running rich at idle, to the point where I get smoke that smells like fuel. I get an occasional high idle with this as well. It clears up soon as it gets above 2000 rpms. It also doesn't do it all the time. Seems to have good power still.
Here is what I have done so far: (all of of this was done after the problem)
-Cap, rotor, wires and plugs replaced
-Ultimate Throttle body MOD
-TBI spacer and Pod Spacer
-Open element filter
-Converter removed
-new O2 sensor
-new Coolant Temp Sensor
All of these items helped it run better but still running rich at idle.
I am stuck where to look next. Any help would be great.

Tee in a vacuum gauge to the map sensor hose. It should be 18" or higher, have a steady needle.
Check the ign. timing, maybe try advancing it, this might help make more vacuum.
Check the grounds, esp. the ecm grounds. They are usually at the back of the engine & near the t stat.
Can you test the fuel pressure, maybe its high for some reason.
Check engine light on?
