Timing Parameters for 1989 2.8
Timing Parameters for 1989 2.8
I have recently picked up working on my friend's F-Body which he bought for super cheap. Well the previous owner thought he was a master tech and decided that he could work on everything. We drove it home from about 60 miles away. The whole time my friend driving said the performance is changing. Two days later he is having issues with it. Go to check the timing and a few other things. Discovered that the distributor was loose. Well the previous owner replace the RS hood with a IROC. Now I have no emissions plaque. Can some one forward me a photo or at least all the information that is listed on it.
I have been reading in a 88 Factory Trans-Am manual and it all points me to the stupid plaque.
Any help would be nice.

You mean the base timing spec? I believe it's like 6 or 8 degrees BTDC (timing wire disconnected while setting it). Just about ANY setting that's reasonably close will be better than driving around with a loose distributor!
