LT1 Rod Question

Will these rods work on an LT1?
It says they are good for a Gen 1 small block but doesn't mention Gen 2 (LT1). Why would that be? I thought rods and pistons were interchangeable between gen 1 and gen 2 small blocks.

Re: LT1 Rod Question

Should be fine. Remember that the Lt-1 uses a lighter piston and rod combo than standard GEN1 SBC's. You will need to rebalance the assembly before final assembly.

Because it is a commercial website ; not a online ref library.
Common to have wrong or omitted info.
Do your own research elsewhere

Thank you. I always ask you guys at ThirdGen because I get faster responses and more accurate answers then the 4thgen forum.

I figured it would work but I'd rather be safe.

Re: LT1 Rod Question

Well, considering that LT1 rods work fine in older versions of the 350 (and any other 5.7" rod SBC), I see no reason why the reverse wouldn't also be true.

He meant other than on the Summit website (I hope that's what he meant, anyway).

Summit is one of the best sites but understandably ;given the large inventory of parts they carry not unusual to find discrepancies or in above case above incomplete listings

I researched it. I knew the Gen 1 & 2 rods were interchangeable but I wanted to double check since summit didn't make mention of it.
