my 1990 formula sometimes wont crank for some reason, illl let it sit for about 10 or 15min and try it again n it will start rite up. i turn the key, hear the fuel pump kick on try to start and nothing happens the lights that come on on the dash when i try cranking are...service engine soon,security,brake. any one who knows whats wrong/ how tofixit PLEASE tellme asap

If not, does the security light go out? If it stays on it's a problem with vats. Also check the wire connections on the starter solenoid they could be working loose, that happened to mine and sometimes it would start and other times just a click.

 

I've had it happen in our 92 camaro. we havent gotten a TRUE fix for it, but we have the wires separated with two keys one going to the ignition and one for the vats. just my 2 cents...

 

the security light stays on when i try to crank it :/ how do i disable the VATS

it will just randomly not start i cant even provoke it to do it it just does it
