steering wheel is loose
so i installed a NRG setup for my steering wheel and now the steering wheel is loose at the hub..i torqued the big nut down really well but its still loose..
noticed on another thread someone fixed this by putting the race around the bearing back into place..

i didnt put the lock plate back on when i did it either..could that be it?? as it could be acting as a sort of spacer?

you need the bearing race, preload cup, spring, cancel cam, lock plate and its retainer.
the lock plate cover isn't needed, but it looks better with it on.

The lock plate holds the whole of the upper column together and pre-loads the bearings, without it the wheel will be really loose and you'll no doubt start shedding parts in no time... ie its a MUST.
Don't know that wheel in particular, but why did the lock plate need to come off to fit it?

Is it tilt steering? If it wobbles, it could be the four bolts that hold it together behind the main bearing in the colum. That's what was loose in mine. Tightened them up and it worked great.
