Comp cam 12 246 3 input needed ASAP!!

Im in the process of buildin my engine and found this camshaft for a nice price with the lifters included.the set is used and states it is in excellent condition.should i find out if the lifters were labeled when they were removed to make sure they go back in the same or does this not matter.its a hydraulic flat tappet cam.

Wouldn't the cam in your 89 350 be a hydraulic roller?

Also - used flat tappet - forget it. With lack of zinc in modern oils, these things need to be treated like glass, no telling if a used one was looked after.

FT lifters absolutely have to go back on the same lobes; I believe it's probably also equally important they go back in the same lifter bores (ie the same block it was broken in on) to maintain the exact conditions that lead to the wear pattern unique to each lifter/lobe pairing during break-in.

Why go backwards? Your car came with a roller cam stock.
