loud screeching coming from bottom of engine...

so i have a 91 rs 305 tbi. after sitting for wuite some time, i finally got it started again. i recently put in a new starter, and have not gotten it to start. so i put in a push button just to jump the starter to get it started. but now it's making a very loud screeching noise coming from the starter/oil pan area. i don't think it's the starter staying engaged, i looked at it while it was running. and i am completely stumped....
recently installed/modded:
stock starter
remote solenoid
push button switch (to start it)
vats bypass

Did this problem just start after you installed the new starter?

did you shim the starter? Could be a bad starter too
