Timing issue...need help
Here's my issue. Did my engine build, I do not have a knock sensor, and the new chip turned the sensor off. So with the stock distributor I have a serious detonation problem (comp 11:1). Am replacing my stock distributor with a new mechanical advance distributor/MSD-6AL. Hence bypassing the computer for Ignition. I am running a stealth Ram. Question....How do I, or what is necessary to make sure my injectors are getting a signal from the computer/ mechanical distributor? Chew on that one fellas....
Thank you,
Brad

Stock GM Computer. My guess is there is a way to use the magnetic pickup in the distributor to send a signal to the ECM.

I do not believe you will have enough room to run a second pickup just to give the ecm a pulse reference to control the injectors. I think your money would be well spent going to dynamic efi ebl p4 and junk the maf. You could always remap your spark tables.

among other things yes. Simple things to make more power, headers, having a chip burned for your modifications is always a good idea. The big limit on TPI cars is the TBI doesn't really allow the car to make much or any power past 4800 rpm. So a different induction system will really wake your motor up.
