think it could just use a tune up?

What all modifications do you have and when is the last time you changed the plugs, wires, cap, rotor, etc?

 

as far as the motor, its completely stock with the exception of headers/exhaust/cai..
all were changed about 15,000 miles ago

 

also, the last time i drove it, when i started it up, it kinda like died for a second then started right up..idk how to explain it but yeah

 

still idling like crap..its not the TPS and its not the MAF..now what?

 

Check for vacuum leaks.

 

Does it clear up past idle?

 

yeah i can get into it fine and it feels great, its just idle..

i just had all the rubber replaced not too long ago so i hope its not a vaccuum leak because that would mean its somewhere worse

 

Atleast yours isnt as bad as mine, or didnt look like it...from what ive learned check and see if theres any codes. I just started throwing parts at it trying to fix it from the symptoms i was having and no luck (replaced the MAP sensor, TPS, ICM, CTS, FP relay, had distributor checked, timing done, checked the vacuum lines) Then i checked the codes and came back with code 23 and 32 (MAT and EGR) i just replaced the MAT sensor today now going to take a look at the EGR when i have time. Best bet is to check those codes before you dump a bunch of time and money into it. Hope you can figure it out!

 

As a side note mine is a 305 tbi so different from yours but you should still be able to get codes.

 

How many miles on the car?...my lower intake manifold gaskets just blew out at 157k. it idles crappy and lunges/studders on acceleration...hoping to get it fixed soon.
