So every time i start my car it takes 3 tries. EVERY TIME. it just started doing this 2 weeks ago. 350 TPI btw. also, when it hasn't run for a while (8 hours or more) the first time i take off (normal acceleration) it hesitates and then once i get going 10mph or so my check engine light comes on and i lose probably 60-75% of the power from the engine. I JUST had a tranny rebuild so I can eliminate that. It must be something to do with the engine. also, since i've had the car (6 months) it's always smelled rich and is horrific when I first start it in my garage. any idea's? clogged cat maybe? where do I start? any ideas are appreciated. Also cant wait for thirdgen fest :-) I'll be coming from Franklin, IN.

 

If it was mine I would check the cat that would not hurt even if that wasn't the problem. I would also be looking at the EGR valve. I really don't know much about TPI could it be a fuel pressure problem just throwing some ideas at you bro.

 

lol ok i'll probably just put a "test pipe" in place of the cat. and as for the EGR valve I don't have one. All emissions including AIR and EGR appear to have been torn out before I acquired the car. I'll have to have someone weld a test pipe in and then get back to you. Also my gas milage has been in the dumps as well (compared to the crappy norm lol). My first thought was clogged cat but it only does it when its cold? idk but like i said i'll check on it and well see.
