Crankcase Pressure

I am having a problem with too much crankcase pressure and I had a PCV system in place. It kept blow oil pan gaskets. Well after talking to a few racer at the track,and speed shop. They all said the samething. Run breather from your valve cover to your exhaust. The car is a track only car. I was wondering if anyone as done it? I found a few kits on Summit for 40.00 and at the bottom it says wont work with mufflers. Well my exhaust system in Hooker Super Comps to 3 inch straight piping to flow master mufflers and dumps right before the rear nothing serious. Will it still work? Please help.

I have done a lot of research on it and its just mixed feelings about it.
Thanks

Re: Crankcase Pressure

You shouldn't be having that kinda problem.. Is this a new motor?? sounds to me like thee rings aren't sealing very well.
Is it leaking oil or pushing gaskets out??

Re: Crankcase Pressure

It shouldnt be doing that!!! I'd do a leakdown test and make sure your rings are sealing.

Not uncommon with big cube engines running at higher revs
They pressurize the crankcase and with no vac from the PCV and inadequate ventilation the oil has to come out somewhere

Google it.
There are You tube videos of vac being pulled with muffler cars
However much debate amongst online "experts";
all I know is it worked with mufflers ( dual 3" ) on my 383

Very true,buuut.
My 400 stroker doesnt have a prob with pushin gaskets, its 11.9-1 and I spin it to 7,500-8k rpm all the time. I'm also running the factory type pcv and valve cover vent to air intake.

Re: Crankcase Pressure

I do put RTV on the gasket to timing cover. I think I am going to go for it and do it. Thanks
