What is this? I have started the process of shaving my engine bay...

always wondered what it was and how I could get away removing it?

 

Thats your windshield wiper motor.But it looks like it already has a delete box on it?

 

That is NOT the wiper motor. The wiper motor is the next black blob to the left of that, in that pic.

That is the vacuum reservoir. Its job is to store some vacuum so that the little doors in your heater system stay put even when the vacuum drops (such as, accelerating hard).

Like most of the stuff under the hood, best left intact and functional.

You can replace it with the later vacuum reservoirs that mounted under the left 'battery' tray in order to hide it.

 

what later vacuum? I was just planning on relocating it to that area too... wouldnt be hard to do at all.

 

Looks to me like the washer fluid motor.

 

Nope, the wiper blade motor and pump is besides the distributer. Apparently its a little vacuum for keeping the heater valves open when the vacuum from the intake drops .

 

Hit the JY for the later style reservoir. It's a direct bolt in to the underside of the tray. It's a black, plastic sphere.
