97 z28 injector wiring question

I'm in the process of putting in a new fuel pressure regulator in my 97 z28. When I began to disconnect the electrical connectors to the injectors, I saw that the front two injectors were in sync with the cylinders (1 and 3 and 2 and 4) but the back two were 8 and 6, and 7 and 5. Is this the correct way?
