88 Insturment Gauges in 82Z.

Not sure where I should post this, but here goes...
I'd like to install 88 Camaro inst panel (speedo/tach) in my 82 Z-28.
After searching/reading most of the night last night, I believe it will plug and play, but I'd like to be sure. Both are cable driven speedos.

If you try to swap the entire clusters the warning lights will all be in the wrong positions, but you can take the speedo and tach heads out of the 88 cluster and put them into your 82 cluster.

That's assuming you had a gauge cluster in the 82 to begin with...
