Transmission or Clutch problem?

I've got an 85 Z28 with a 350 motor swap and a T5 Worldclass transmission.
lately it has been really hard to shift from 1st to 2nd gear, and if i get on it hard from a stop it feels like the tranny "locks me out" of the gear and I have to either shift to Nutral or force it in. Also when I shift from 2nd to to 3rd I will sometimes get a grind. I'm thinking my syncros are out but from what I have read online some people say it might be a clutch problem. My Clutch has probable about 8K miles on it and the Clutch bearring is starting to go out.
wondering if anyone can help me out.

Thanks

Sounds like syncro's to me. have you changed your tranny fluid lately? Is the fluid at a good level?

Re: Transmission or Clutch problem?

I had a similar problem with my T5 shifting from 3 to 4..... For me, it was the throwout bearing. The spring on the clutch fork had broken and the bearing wasn't being held in properly so I wasn't getting a full disengagement. When i took it apart and found the throwout bearing barely hanging on, i found my problem...... but that was my car.

Re: Transmission or Clutch problem?

Turned out to be the Clutch Slave Cylinder was going out, it didn't have the pressure under stress. That following night when I went to park her for the night the clutch pedal whet streight to the floor.
