Installing Mechanical Temp Guage....

So my 84 z28 (carbed engine) temp gaug eis not working but i was thinking of just buying a mechanical temp gaug eand putting it into the air manifold but I am in the process of replacing the thermostat and saw this opening but IDK what that sensor is/does, herers a pik of it. its the one with the lil blue cap on it...

That controls the fuel vapor canister purge.

Can't do away with it. Gotta have it for inspection.

Just repair your stock temp gauge... start by looking for the sensor in the driver's side head between the #1 & #3 spark plugs, make sure the wire is hooked up.

you wouldn't happen to have a pik of it would u?and you think I can get a better view of it from the top of the engine or the bottom, kus I am having difficulties locating it, thanks.

No, sorry, no pic...

Pretty easy to get to from above. In between the #1 & #3 spark plugs (I think we all know where those are?). Looks kinda like a sensor, stuck into the head right there. Should be able to just stand there and look down at it and see it.
