89 camaro v8 swap?????
89 camaro v8 swap?????
I have an 89 Rs that originally had the 2.8. with the t5 I've already moved motor mounts, bent brake lines, and got a v8 bellhousing, but have run into a problem with the flywheel/clutch. The 350 was originally in my 69 chevy truck, the crank where the flywheel bolts up, is to big for the 89 oem v8 camaro flywheel, and the original flywheel doesn't have a place for the 89 clutch to bolt yo. So my question is what flywheel do i need to order to make this work?

Get the flywheel for an '84 Z28. Problem solved. But the V6-spec T5 won't work, even if you got the V8 bellhousing. Swap clutches exist, but the torque capacity isn't there. Sell it before you break it, which you would, and get the correct V8-spec T5.

i cant tell you what flywheel you need but i can tell you i had the same sorta problem on my truck youll need to confuse the hell outa the parts store guys and find a flywheel that is the made for the same size of clutch the camaro needs but also will fit the 350 which im guessing is a two peice rear seal so have them run through the truck flywheels and see if you can find one that requires the same size clutch if they cant find it have them switch to car flywheels for the same engine ie camaro chevelle nova impalla you should be able to find one if this doesnt work sorry i wasted your time but it worked for me
