Battery keeps dying?
I have a 84 camaro I rebuilt. Now If I leave the battery connected over night the voltage goes from 12.8 down to 4volts. I had a aftermarket tach hooked up but I disconnected the 12v constant power from it cause I thought that was causing the problem. But its still doing that. Any siguestions?

Do you have an electric choke that is direct wired? Or a hood lamp?

You didn't specify whether the battery will hold a charge if it's disconnected over night? If it doesn't, then you have a bad battery. If it does, then you have a problem in one of your electrical circuits. Is the wiring harness stock or do you have aftermarket stuff directly wired either to the battery or the 'BAT' terminal of your fusebox?

do you have a hatch motor? My iroc would drain down if the rear hatch didnt click at the end of closing.worn out guilds can cause that. The other thing was the altnator had somthing wrong with it.It charged when running.but some times it would drain my battery.some resister that keeps curent from flowing backward in the alt would bug on me.

I figured it out. I'm a big dummy. I wired my alternator wrong so it was drawing power with the car off. Oops.
Thanks guys
