Car tries to die because of heat?
Here lately out temps have been around 100 degrees and over that with the heat index, could this cause out cars to not want to run at idle? Reason I ask is because if my car is in gear and idling like at a stop light it will start shaking and bouncing at idle and try to stall out. If I put it out of gear it idles back up alittle to like 550 and stops shaking. It's never done this before so I'm thinking it's just this extreme heat? Help

Borderline partial vapor-lock? Is such a thing even possible? If so, that'd be my first guess.

I'd expect it to be bad if trying to idle below about 650 RPM. A 550 RPM idle is barely possible even for a stock 350 in perfect tune. If you can't adjust the idle speed up, then you may have to try removing the TB and drilling a small bleed through the throttle blade. If that hurts rather than helping, epoxy it shut. Before that, how about the IAC valve? Does it even have one? If so, is it carbon-clogged? How's the setting on the TPS?
