92 Camaro RS 3.1 MPI Losing my Mind Stalling

Hello Everyone

I neeed input on this from anyone

here's the details

engine stalls but not instantly at almost every stop, as engine warms it does seem to get worse.

when I stop at a light or sign it may run for a short period but most times before i pull off it will stall, sometimes it kind of surges in RPM and then stalls. BUT it always and I mean ALWAYS starts right back up, no problem at all, ever.

I have replaced.
Plugs
Spark Plug wires
cap & rotor
ignition coil
ignition Module
EGR Valve
MAP sensor
IAC valve
Fuel Filter

checked Vacuum and compression and timing

of course the SES light never comes on to indicate an issue except only when the engine has actually shut down and that's just normal prestart condition

any suggestions?

Joe

Check your fuel pressure first. See what it is at idle, what it does under throttle, WOT, and how long it stays after shut off. Ohm all inj, cold and hot. Should be 17+ and within .5 of each other.

Does it have a rough idle? What rpms does it idle at?

What engine?

Just for the hell of it, try running the codes. See if it gives you anything. Maybe when it stalls and gives you the ses light and you think its normal, its really giving you a code(s).

A:haven't check pressure as it is kind of inconsistent with problem but i will, the injectors would cause a miss? no miss

Qoes it have a rough idle?
A:not really

Q:What rpms does it idle at?
A:1200

Q:What engine?
A:my subject says 3.1 which is a v-6

A: as I said no codes

Sorry, I looked right over where it said 3.1!

Injectors can act very strangly when they start failing, causing all kinds of frustrating problems. Ohming them will tell if the electronic-half of them is any good, but the injector could still be in failing operating condition. Its very common for them to get worse as the engine warms up too.

Id still check fuel pressure too because it isnt hard, doesnt take long, and its nice to be able to check that off as OK. My car when I got it was giving me similar problems, turned out my pump and sending unit were shot.

I would check the TPS too.

Check fuel pressure. On mine it was doing kinda the same thing. Ended up being the fuel regulator.

Good information on doing an idle learn and cleaning of the TB:

https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/v6/1...dle-learn.html

If you have recently disconnected the battery and your car has an automatic the idle learn will/should correct the stalling.

RBob.
