Leaky Fuel Tank Options

I'm trying to figure out the best course of action to fix my leaking filler neck.

Last year, factory pump died and was replaced with a walbro unit. During that time I noticed the solder around the filler neck had a crack in it and tried fixing it. It seemed to hold for a few months, but now it leaks on hard cornering.

What options do I have, from what I have gathered is these are my options:

1. Buy a aftermarket tank, but have heard the only aftermarket is the spectra tank and the fitment sucks on those.

2. Take my tank to a radiator shop and have the neck re welded.

3. Replace the tank with a plastic LS1 tank. This seems like an awesome swap since it is lighter and plastic so it will never rust, however I can not use the walbro I just bought with it so I would loose money on that. I would need to make some custom lines and replace the fuel level sender to make my gauge work properly.


Any other options/recommendations???

Thanks, the tank is in GREAT shape. less than 80K miles and never driven in the snow, and rarely in the rain.

I just repaired mine with some 2 part epoxy for marine applications. I had a hole in the top that some idiot cut into it while extracting the sending unit through the car body under the hatch.

I agree that the radiator repair shop is the best way.
