will a stock 1987 and up TPI (vortec style) intake fit 210cc runner heads?????
I am about to buy heads and I want to use my stock tpi intake( which I heavily ported) I noticed some Heads say you may need aftermarket intakes.... I dont mind modifying the heads to work. any input would be greatly appreciated !!!!!

Vortec engine never had TPI stock so only way of putting TPI on a Vortec heads is with a custom aftermarket intake base made for the purpose
What style (shape) intake ports do they have?
In any case most would say
if you need ( or can use ) 210cc heads on your engine ; then a TPI is completely wrong intake for such a engine

I am talking about the 1987 and up intake bolt pattern. The four inner bolts are at a different angle then the 1986 and older.

A stock or ported GM tpi intake and 210cc heads sounds like a fail to me...
I'm unaware of any difference in manifolds until the vortec heads in 96+ but I could be wrong. Unless the intake you have specifically says vortec style heads, you are ok to use it (a GM TPI manifold will work with any non vortec head) although you would want to open up the runners on the intake to match the intake runners on the heads.

Vortec heads only came on '96+ truck engines with TBI
The problem you have is the port size of your new heads ;
there may not be enough metal the TPI base to match the port to the gasket size normally used on a massive 210cc head
(bolt angle is no problem ; you just slot the hole in the TPI base to suit earlier angle; Aftermarket intakes DO this so one intake fits both style heads)
