Yesterday the speedo just stopped working. I traced it to the cruise control "box". The cable from the tranny spins, going into the CC box, but the "out" shaft doesn't spin.

When I drive the CC works like it should, sets and holds speed, shuts off, etc.

Where can I find out how to open up the box? Are there all kinds of ball bearings and springs that I'll lose in the **** carpet in front of the TV? I haven't found any pics/drawings on the net.

I'd try to locate another CC Box (transducer). Rebuilt ones are available from Rock Auto for around $70.

 

Thanks for the lead. I found them there and also found them at Amazon, but I'll look around more to see what else I need.

 

Sent you a pm. It's easy to open up, I fixed mine in about an hour. worst thing that can happen is you have to buy one right?
