Can This Be Fixed? (Starter)

My friend gave me a free mini starter for a 168 tooth flexplate. It works fine but the problem is the drive gear is a bit chewed up.

Can this be replaced without having to buy a whole new starter? Would be nice to ditch the stock style mammoth I have right now.

Re: Can This Be Fixed? (Starter)

OK found a new hitachi style gear so looks like I'll have a working mini starter for $20.

Second question I tore the whole starter apart to examine everything. I want to spray all the dirt and crap off the internals and clean it before re-assembly. What kind of grease should I recoat everything with? Will bearing grease work or should I use something else?

Are you talking about wheel bearing and chassis grease? I still have some synthetic valvoline grease left.
