New distributor new problem :(

I have a 1991 Firebird 3.1 v6. I recently changed the plugs, wires, pcv valve, tps, oil pressure switch. And tonight I put a new distributor in. I forgot to make the TDC, so I pulled the 1st plug, got it as close as I could to TDC, and installed it. this took 3 or 4 tries btw. I got it to where it started right up, but now it has no power, and the oil pressure is below 40 at 2000 rpm. and its running warmer than usual. I was wondering if maybe its a faulty distributor or something else I may have done wrong. everything looks installed correctly. Oh and it stalls on idle when its warm and the check engine light comes on and off. Before I took the old distributor out it didnt do this.

You need to set the timing w/ a timing light, follow the instructions on the emissions label as there is a wire you must unplug to get the car into timing mode.

Did you set the base timing to the correct factory spec (with timing wire disconnected) after you stabbed the distributor? Getting it running and getting it RIGHT are not the same thing.

I did, I think its a faulty distributor, gonna pull it out and try again with another one. I'll use the light this time and not forget to mark it.

So I changed out the distributor. Got the timing right, it runs better now the oil pressure looks good, and so does the temp. So its better, but now when its idling it likes to occasionally stall out. The check engine light isn't on.

The iac or the throttle body might be dirty.
