1-8-4-3-6-5-7-2... bring it up to TDC and the rotor is pointing to either the #1 or #6 terminal.

Clockwise. Bring it up to TDC and look at the rotor position.

Car: Yes
Engine: Usually
Transmission: Sometimes
Axle/Gears: Behind me somewhere
Re: Firing Order on LG4 & Coil........

And of course, when you bring it up on #1 TDC, make sure that it's the one out of the 2 instances of #1 TDC during a complete engine cycle (of 2 revolutions) that's #1 firing, and not the other instance of #1 TDC which is the end of the exhaust stroke and the beginning of the intake stroke. Verify this by either having your assistant "bump" the starter slowly while you hold a finger over the #1 spark plug hole or by turning the crank with a crank-turning tool, NOT the damper bolt, until you feel compression; and then continuing to turn until the timing mark is approximately aligned.

Re: Firing Order on LG4 & Coil........

#1 is in right spot, but you go clockwise, not counter clockwise. keep #1 where it is, then go 8,4,3,6,5,7,2 clockwise from #1
