Activating ebrake without lever

Hey gang - with the mods I've done to my GTA, my emergency brake lever is no longer accessible. My regular brakes are fine, but everyday I drive, this concerns me a bit for the obvious safety reasons. I am trying to figure out a way that I can activate the e-brake without physically pulling the lever. But searching online isn't yielding very many answers. Has anyone ever done something like this before? Any advice, model #'s, photos, etc. would be tremendously helpful. Thank you!

No - something electronic would be ideal. Like a button that engages / disengages the ebrake cable.

Re: Activating ebrake without lever

Ab electric e-brake wouldn't be difficult to rig up & I know there is some new car recently advertised that has that, but I question how does it work if the electronics fail? Isn't the purpose of one for if the hydraulics fail? Looks like it is just trading one possible failure (hydraulic) for another (electric).

You need a mechanical linkage as a fail safe, If you can't use the stock one then i'd try for a foot activated like gt4373 suggested. Tons of cars/trucks use them so it should be easy to find something that'll work at the junk yard.

Re: Activating ebrake without lever

My '68 C10 has an e-brake handle sideways under the steering column. If you set up something like that, it would work.
