hey guys im having issues with my 88 iroc 305tpi 5 speed, i was out driving today on my day off with my wife and daughter , went to walmart car was driving great as normal left walmart and stopped in and grabbed some food . when we went to leave the car wouldnt idle so i helped it idle until it warmed up figuring it would cure the issue and it did but it idles really low and rough and when i give it gas it revs but when it goes back down to idle it will die . i can start it 50% of the time and it will idle on its own low and rough but dies after i gas it or it wont idle at all after start up. it did the same thing last week but not as bad and i limped it home, after two hours of sitting in the drive way it started and drove fine all week to and from work... anybody have an idea whats going on??! my transmission in my DD went out so this is my transportation any help would be great thanks

EDIT: it was on E when it happened and i limped it to the gas station put 20 in and still doing it. figured it was sucking fumes

 

I'd remove the throttle body & clean it up good. Remove the iac to clean those passages too.

 

i did that when i replaced the tps and iac about 2 months ago so it should be clean, seems like the problem goes away if the car sits for a couple hours

 

ohm your injectors, clean the maf with maf specific cleaner, check fuel pressure.
