350 V-belt

Hey guys, new here. I've already Tried looking for an answer to my question, but no such luck. So, I have an 88 z28 carved with a vbelt system and I need the belt that goes around the crank, alternator and water pump. I've tried going to pepboys, auto zone, and advance auto to find it, but most of the people there are more ignorant about such things than myself. My question is if I can find the belt I need at any of these stores and if anyone knows the part no.? -thanks in advance.

Re: 350 V-belt

depends on what pulleys you have and what the v-belt setup came from-'82-early'85 v8 thirdgen probably correct as those used the same belt setup as most other SBC of the same era.I'll se what belt #is on my car... I have gates #7445 on my car with the bigger crank pulley and bigger '82 85a alternator-some '70s/early 80s non-A/C setups have a smaller crank pulley.

Re: 350 V-belt

Your 88 would not have come stock with a carb or a v-belt setup. Take the belt off, measure it (width and length) and compare these measurements to what the parts store stocks for an equivalent 87 v belt for a 305 VIN H. If the 87 belt is too wide try the 85 alternator belt (the pulley size changed in 86 or 87).

They'll definitely have the part, it's just a matter of finding it!

I run a 12si style alt with an application of an '84 Camaro 305 G vin, as well as the same style water pump you do. The stock belt for my car actually fits my setup, and might for you as well. It's a 72 Nova, 350. Also just try looking up the one for the 84 Camaro 305. Most parts stores will let you exchange it for a different size.

Re: 350 V-belt

15445 or 450 (15/32" wide, 44.5" or 45" long) 15440 will usually work too
