ok so swapped the 305 tpi into a 88 iroc has new lifters, cam, pushrods, timing chain,head gaskets, intake manifold gaskets,oil pump new cap rotor ignition module coil wires and spark plugs. so the car wouldnt start yesterday but the thing was distributor had to be turn 180 degrees away from #1 piston.

set the distributor yesterday and started right up did valve adjustment afterwards was running fine...

started up this morning fine ran fine shut it off, checked the car for everything being tight and removed it off jackstands. when to eat came back to start it and go for a test drive now it just cranks i turn the distributor and no reaction to it.

THINGS IVE DONE AND CHECKED-
check the #1plug wire for spark and nothing checked the coil for spark nothing, removed cap and turn it rotor spins, plugs seem to be dry no gas on them,

what i think is a ground since it was on jackstands and started up fine removed them and nothing maybe or distributor gave out or ecm i checked the fuses nothing im going crazy please help TGO thanks text since im not always on to 5107061708 or just post on here

 

Given you appear to have no fuel and the injectors are controlled by the ECM
after it gets a signal from the ICM in the dist which also controls the spark , seeing you are missing both
the ICM would be the 1st thing I would check

Check all your fuses.

Test your ignition module. Mine went out and I got no spark from the dizzy. It was sudden too. I went to Mcdonalds for dinner, parked, went inside, came out and nothing...dead.

 

It was the distributor, now car hesitates has no power how to set perfect timing need a timing gun?

 

Could have been the ignition module in the dizzy.

And yes, you'll need a timing gun to set the timing properly.

Back In the days before the LSx engine was in the maro i always carried an extra ICM with me lol. Now with the LS i keep a fuel pump with me lol.
