hi all 1989 trans am gta convertible not starting ive got power to all fuses relays ect can hear the fuel pump prime. got fuel to the rail. has had new distributor coil ignition module pick up coil. have had it running by spraying fuel down the throttle body but wont get any fuel on its own. i got to now check fuel pressure and injector pulse. i got power to the injectors with noid light but hows best to check the injector pulse can i check it with the noid light or can i make a light bulb with wires to go on the connector. abit of help would be usefull as not that amazing with engines thanks.

 

If the noid light is flashing, you have injector pulse.

 

so i dont need anything to the ground on the connector just the noid light on the power pin crank it over and see if its flashing

 

right, noid light plugs in like a bulb. My kit has a fiber optic cable with a suction cup on the windshield to see it from the seat as you crank.

 

right ok boys thanks for the replys i will check it tomorrow. if no pulse and fuel pressure is ok what do you think it will lead to the ecm/ecu. it has vats but light is coming on with ignition and going out when cranking. by the way this test light is the single pen type not the test light with two pins that plug in the connector
