You still need to understand the math behind why LSA affects overlap. Anyways, I was looking at the David Vizard Chart again from his book. With 10:5 compression, the biggest cam that will work is the DV294-06HRH. That's the street strip cam. The real race cam requires 12:1 compression to function.
David Vizard matched his cams to the minimum required Compression ratio's too. So, if you haven't bought a cam yet, ask Lunati for DV294-06HRH on a post 87 factory roller block.

And the spider system will work, however there's a special procedure described on how to use the stock hydraulic roller lifters in the book. hi thanks for the info , i want to rev about 6500 rpm i dont think the tko 600 like to be over that rpm... my mecanic said it can make my combustion chamber smaller like 52cc i can get 10.2 CR. head by now are 57 cc for a 9.6 CR i wanted 10.5 but eagle miss match the piston they put -26cc dish we ordered -16 cc dish strocker kit bad luck i guess again !

Can you take it back and get the proper pistons? Those 113 heads can only be flat milled 0.020 as the decks are thin. You're going to need to port those heads as they are kinda small for a 383. The David Vizard fast street DV282-06HRH cam requires a minimum compression of 9:1. The Max street DV290-06HRH cam requires 9.8:1 compression. Make sure you let Lunati know you want a cam for a post 87 factory hydraulic roller block or you will get a retro roller cam. Go for the smaller cam if you can't get the required compression because the motor will have less torque than the cam with the right compression.

I know you don't care about gas mileage as its a race engine, but for what it's worth, the biggest "good gas mileage cam" David Vizard specs out is DV278-06 which is 227 @0.05 with 0.565 lift with 1.6 rockers. Requires 8.8:1 compression. The fast street cam is the next step up and the biggest you can get with the compression you mentioned. 231@0.05 intake and exhaust with 0.571 lift using 1.6 rockers.

hi , i cant get back the piston because i have run the engine last summer so , my last cam was the xfi280 it was running good until lifter failure...maybe ill stay with 9.6 compression and get costum gring for my setup. those heads are already ported but i dont know the exact CFM so tomorrow ill get those on a flow bench , thanks

Let me know what numbers you get. If you can get it on a swirl meter too, that would be awesome! (But if you can't get those heads on a swirl meter, that's ok too. Most people don't measure with a swirl meter unless you're really hardcore.)

hi , my engine builder want to flat mille the head to 0.030 he said its nothing for a heads... the block is zero deck too ...

Zero decking the block is good. But...the stock heads decks are thin from the start.

Dont take anymore off the head than whats necessary for a flat finish. Likely wont take much
