Car Shakes and stutters when accelerating...
Alright so I got a 1984 Z28 with a LG4 engine in it. So this just started happening and Im not really sure why....right off the bat I knwo for a fact that my 02 sensor is not connected but this wasnt happening before and my sensor wasnt connected back then. Also Ive gotten new MSD wires new cap and rotor and Ive checked them all and theres nothing apparent. Also I also have the timing advanced to 12 degrees. Ive checked for vaccuem leacks and found a few and plugged them up and still nothing..
Pretty much it idles fine and when i rev it it responds well, its only when I finally starts driving when it starts shaking and sometimes stutters when accelerating. I really hate it and I can figure out exactly what it can be.....
Any guesses, other than the O2 sensor not being connected.?Ive recently put in a edelbrock intake manifold but I dont ebelive that woudl affect it..or would it?Also I got a STOCK CC Q-JET

Sounds like a bad misfire, multiple cylinders. If the car was running fine then u put new intake on and now it runs poorly then yes intake issues, probably not sealed properly.

It really does sound like a spark problem. Do you have a spare coil to try? How do the plugs look?

Car: Yes
Engine: Usually
Transmission: Sometimes
Axle/Gears: Behind me somewhere
Re: Car Shakes and stutters when accelerating...
Sounds like spark plug wires too close to headers somewhere, and have got burned.
Find some REALLY REALLY DARK place to take the car; open the hood while it's running; look for sparks.

Not a bad idea but you really think that could be the problem?Kus ive looked at my cables and they all seems fine, visually speaking.
